Amy Mason Safety student policies

Lifeguard/Lifeguard REcert Cancellation Policy

 Due to limited class sizes and instructor scheduling, the following cancellation policy strictly applies to all registrations.

  • 14 days or more prior to the first day of class:
    Students will receive a refund of the course fee minus a $25 administrative/service fee
  • 7–13 days prior to the first day of class:
    Students will receive a 50% refund of the course fee.
  • Less than 7 days prior to the first day of class:
    No refund will be issued. All payments are forfeited.

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to Amy Mason Safety prior to the applicable deadline.

Amy Mason Safety reserves the right to deny refund requests that do not meet the timelines outlined above. 

Lifeguard/Lifeguard REcert Class Transfer (Class Change) Policy

Because classes have limited capacity, transfers are not guaranteed and are subject to seat availability in another class.

Students may request to transfer to a different scheduled class under the following conditions:

  • 10 or more days before the scheduled class:
    One complimentary transfer may be granted for illness or personal emergency only, provided space is available.
  • 5–10 days before the scheduled class:
    Transfers may be approved with a $100 transfer fee, subject to availability.
  • Less than 5 days before the scheduled class:
    Transfers may be approved with a $150 transfer fee, subject to availability.

Amy Mason Safety reserves the right to deny transfer requests if the requested class is full or unavailable.

Cancellation Policy 

People who cancel 2 weeks prior to class there is a $10.00 service fee

Those who cancel 7-13 days it's $15.00 

Those who cancel the day of class to 6 days have a $20.00 service fee

Transfer (Class Change) Policy

People who would like to move less than 10 days from class will be charged a $25.00 service fee


Amy Mason Safety Attendance Policy for all classes

Courses offered through Amy Mason Safety follow the requirements set by the American Red Cross.

To successfully complete certification requirements:

  • Students must attend all scheduled class hours.
  • Students may not arrive late, leave early, or miss any portion of the course.
  • Students must successfully complete all prerequisites, skills evaluations, and written assessments required by the certification program.

Students who fail to meet these requirements will not be eligible to receive certification, and no refund or credit will be issued. 

Medical Documentation Requirements

 Requests to cancel or transfer a class due to medical reasons must be supported by official documentation from a licensed physician or health plan provider.

Documentation must:

  • Clearly state the medical reason preventing attendance, and
  • Be submitted within 48 hours of the scheduled class start time.

Amy Mason Safety reserves the right to review and approve or deny medical-based exceptions at its sole discretion. 

Situations That Do Not Qualify for Refunds or Exceptions

 The following circumstances do not qualify for refunds, transfers, or policy exceptions, including but not limited to:

  • Personal scheduling conflict
  • Vacation or travel plans
  • School or extracurricular activities
    (examples include swim meets, birthdays, dances, prom, etc.)
  • Last-minute schedule changes
  • No-shows or forgetting to attend the class
  • Weather conditions
  • Personal transportation issues
  • Failure to review class date/time prior to registration

Students are responsible for confirming their schedule and ability to attend before registering. 

No-Show Policy

Students who fail to attend their scheduled class without prior written notice will be considered a no-show.

No-shows:

  • Forfeit the full course fee
  • Are not eligible for refunds or transfers

Class Cancellation by Amy Mason Safety

Amy Mason Safety reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes due to low enrollment, instructor illness, facility issues, or other unforeseen circumstances.

If Amy Mason Safety cancels a class, students will be offered either:

  • A full refund, or
  • A transfer to another available class at no additional charge

Amy Mason Safety is not responsible for travel costs, missed work, or other expenses incurred by students related to course scheduling. .

Policy Agreement

 By registering for a course with Amy Mason Safety, students acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to all policies listed above.

Failure to comply with these policies may result in denial of certification, removal from the class, and forfeiture of all fees paid.
