Amy Mason & Kate Beidleman  bring over 30 years of combined

American Red Cross Lifeguard instruction and aquatic management expertise to assisting Bay

Area aquatic facilities with planning and preparing their management teams for a safe and

successful opening.

We recognizes that no two facilities are alike. We will identify your pool’s needs and

create a training program and staffing plan to prepare your Lifeguard Manager/Head Lifeguard

and their team for the season ahead. Beginning two to three months prior to your facility’s

opening date, We will provide American Red Cross Lifeguard Manager training for your

Lifeguard Manager or Head Lifeguard and Assistant Head Lifeguard. This hands-on,

facility-specific training will allow them to facilitate staff training and audits that are part of the

American Red Cross Lifeguard Program. We will also educate your Lifeguard Manager on

Contra Costa Health code requirements to ensure your facility is compliant and ready for the

challenges it will likely face during your operating season. Following Management training,

We will work with your Lifeguard Manager and/or Head Lifeguard to recruit a responsible and

highly trained team of lifeguards. Amy & Kate can conduct American Red Cross Lifeguard

Certification Training courses at your facility should new hires require certification.

On the administrative side of management, Amy & Kate will work with your Lifeguard Manager or

Head Lifeguard to create staffing schedules that will accommodate your pool’s usage during

both your peak and off-peak seasons. We can work with them to create rotations and

protocols to ensure appropriate coverage and monitoring. We will also create Emergency

Action Plans (EAPs) and lifeguard handbooks for your lifeguard team.

Ongoing management consultation options are available at various levels to meet your facility’s

specific requirements and budgets. We will continue to work with your Lifeguard Manager or

Head Lifeguard with scheduling, staffing issues and will provide monthly in-service training to

help your lifeguard team maintain their skills and practice so they are prepared in an emergency.

We will also be on-hand to advise on general management issues, as is needed.
